High in the hills of Central Otago, the Mysterious Diggings vineyard is drenched in sun and comprised of rocky terraces heavy with native schist, imbuing its Pinot Noir namesake with a fragrant sensuality and a tingling minerality.

Made with complete transparency, Terra Sancta's intention was to simply showcase exceptional fruit from their oldest vines, in an outstanding vintage. Using no whole bunch or new oak, the tannins in this Pinot Noir are entirely fruit derived. Pinot Noir grapes from their first planted vines were hand-picked and small batch fermented in neutral barrique with no additions. Composed from barriques identified in the winery as exceptional with 80% Sarah's Block Pinot Noir, the wine spent 16 months in oak prior to bottling. Neither fined nor filtered, it was bottled at Terra Sancta under cork and wax.

The Last Shepherd Chardonnay has fruit driven flavours, toasty French oak, buttery notes, and a deliciously good story. Gisborne boasts being the first city in the world to be touched by the rays of a new dawn. Sheltering high country to the west and high sunshine hours result in long dry summers. A full bodied, rich style of Chardonnay which is classic of the Gisborne region. This wine displays fruit driven aromas of apricot and melon, a textural palate balanced with buttery notes, and rounded off with toasty oak characteristics.

Central Otago is home to New Zealand's largest high country sheep stations. The original shepherds who worked these stations have moved on, yet their spirit remains. The Last Shepherd celebrate these men with this Central Otago Pinot Noir. Medium ruby red, exhibiting vibrant dark berry aromas with hints of spice and smoke. The palate is rich and savoury with dark cherry and plum fruit characters with fine supple tannins, hints of pepper and spice and a savoury oak finish.

Aromas of red apple and raspberry. The palate is ripe and concentrated, with red berries and orchard fruits. Beautifully balanced with a long fragrant finish.

A bold Hawke's Bay Syrah - Floral aromas such as lilac, violet with lifted dark berry notes appear on the nose. On the palate, flavours of boysenberry and plum with well-integrated oak influence come through. With medium weight on the palate, this wine has a hint of pepper and warm spices, rounded out with a soft and velvety finish. With its delicate flavours, this wine pairs wonderfully with grilled meats and vegetables, particularly lamb and eggplant.

Blending the Maude Pinot Noir is one of their favourite and most important tasks. Each year, the magical blend from the Poison Creek and Mohawk Hill vineyards changes. Maintaining the pedigree of the Maude Pinot Noir is absolutely critical; but achieving this requires flexibility with both the blend as well as the technique as both vary with each vintage. Right in the heart of the magical Waihopai Valley, a million miles from anywhere, lies The Ned, one of Marlborough's most famous peaks. The Ned Chardonnay - A fruit driven Chardonnay with white nectarine and loquat aromas elevated by notes of vanilla, cinnamon and lightly toasted brioche. The palate is plush and creamy from the near full malolactic conversion, swathed in warm French oak spice with fine acid tension on the finish.
