Judge Rock's certified organic Chiaroni-Jacobson family vineyard is sited on glacial sandy soils on the outskirts of Alexandra, Central Otago. The vineyard grew from an idea that with love of the land, and attention to detail, this site would make great wine - the multiple Gold Medals won by Judge Rock have proven them right. This 2019 Pinot Noir is fragrant with blackberry, red cherry, cloves, violets, chocolate, dried herbs and spice on the nose. It has a full silky palate with dark fruits, blackberries and boysenberries. Elegant palate with layers of fine grained tannins and subtle oak notes leading to a long finish of spice and cherries.

Intense aromas of ripe cherries and boysenberries sit alongside notes of dark chocolate and layered over just a hint of spicy, earthiness. It is an intense mouthful full of juicy boysenberry, cherry and dark chocolate flavours and with a weighty texture on the palate. It has loads of supple, fine tannins and the finish is long, spicy and delicious, suggesting a wine that will develop nicely over the coming years.

A classic example of cool climate Syrah showcasing dark berry fruit and fresh pepper aromas with complex notes of dried herbs, savoury black olive and leather. The palate is rich and layered with supple tannins that carry flavours through to a persistent finish.
